Recently released in India, Google Bard can be accessed by interested customers via the company’s official website. The search giant announced at the Google I/O 2023 that the chatbot will be available in over 180 countries, including India, and will compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
To access Google Bard in India, users can visit bard.google.com and click on the “try Bard” option after being informed that the chatbot is still being tested. Users will need to agree to the privacy permissions to get access to Bard. Previously, the Google Bard chatbot was only available in the UK and US, and users in India were unable to join the waitlist to use it.
Google has highlighted that Bard is still experimental and may have inaccuracies in its responses, so users should double-check information. One of the major differences between Google Bard and ChatGPT is that Bard will stay updated with the latest developments, while ChatGPT has been trained only on data limited to September 2021. Bard can also cite resources if it picks up large chunks of data from a single web page.
In addition, it is worth noting that Google Bard allows users to review multiple drafts for a single query before selecting the one they prefer. This is unlike ChatGPT, which provides responses in a more natural, conversational way, but typically generates only one response at a time. With Google Bard, users can see the entire response at once. However, as both platforms continue to receive updates, they are expected to improve on their respective features and capabilities.
